omg ozolith! ozolith deck is the first one I've fabricated and am saving up wildcards for. You got the decklist?

Yes merely it'south extremely jank, I'm still refining it! Right now information technology's struggling to go out of Silverish, and then I wanna clean it upward a little lol. Mostly playing with counters and bruise. Going for a variant of Trample Tribal.

Yeah but it's extremely jank, I'm withal refining it! Correct at present it's struggling to become out of Silverish, so I wanna clean it up a footling lol. More often than not playing with counters and bruise. Going for a variant of Trample Tribal.
I want to try information technology with dreadhorde invation. That's my large jank idea lol. Willing to spend a lot of wildcards to make this piece of work.

Went the full 7 wins with a solid Jeskai deck with Lutri every bit a companion.

Did not do so great with my second typhoon when I played Temur and had picayune to no mutate payoff.

I don't end up really playing every set (the concluding set I seriously drafted was State of war of the Spark). LSV's set reviews are always fun to look through. Listening to an hour plus long podcast feels like a huge waste product of fourth dimension until I know I'm going to draft at least a few times.

I strongly believe ranked in Arena is on a apartment curve. In that location'south no deviation betwixt the decks in Bronze versus Mythic, I'one thousand non even kidding. It'south probably because the matchmaking goes by your mythics/rares in your deck more than than rank, just information technology'due south hilarious to run across people dropping optimized Fires decks in fuckin' Silverish. Good way to keep the deck tested though!

Gonna miss Twenty-four hours 1 limited. 6 drafts in and I'm alee on gems overall thanks to a couple of silly 7-0s. I'g not a nifty drafter or player in general, and so I'm going to assume I was just in the correct seat.

My faves thus far:
UW Skies - this deck that just tempo'd people out and featured Greatshark equally a finisher. That 3-drop 2/2 that taxes targeting your fliers is super absurd. You can literally see your opponents writhing trying to fit their removal spells in. The spells that get cheaper when you lot command a flier are all crawly. My feelings about this deck are skewed cuz I took downwards a guy for the seventh win who played by the Moth and the UW blink companion. Such a fist pump.

GW Mutate - This was congenital subsequently 1st picking a Cub Warden followed by a couple of the mana druids. Decided to just go large with Mammoths and some mutate guy who flips permanents from the top of your deck onto the battlefield (anyone else having a Actually hard fourth dimension with names in this set?). Highlight was definitely the 1/3 W flier who grows from non-combat impairment with the green spell that deals damage equal to a creature yous reveal. I got to go far a 7/9 in 1 game and opponent but pulled his pockets inside out like the Monopoly human being subsequently a bad community breast.

My best deck so far was probably a RB menace deck, simply information technology wasn't really off-white. You could tell this was the typhoon with inexperienced drafters who simply left Rakdos wide open up. I wound up with pairs of Dead Weight, Fire Prophecy, Blood Curdle, and whatsoever the 2 mana that nukes a guy with no counters is. These will probably happen way less every bit people go accepted to the fix, only this would've never happened with bots.

Beloved the set up so far. Haven't even thought about constructed. Fourth dimension to rip open some prize packs though. Woot!

Cycling deck is really fun. I had the jankiest version before with all the control payoffs and none of the wincons. It but went 5-3 but information technology did have a remarkable power to just stall games forever.
youtu.be
This game went on for similar 35 or 40 minutes, pulled out a win with 1 card left in my deck at the end (I have that recorded but this was kind of the role where I shifted from down to in control).

EDIT: Lurrus is underneath that vulpikeet if you lot were wondering what the extra GY shenanigans were.

Gonna miss Day 1 limited. vi drafts in and I'm ahead on gems overall cheers to a couple of silly 7-0s. I'm non a great drafter or thespian in full general, and then I'g going to presume I was simply in the right seat.

Haven't had a chance to play yet, but how's the contest? Compared to ranked bot drafts previously, is it a lot harder? And were you rare-drafting or just picking good cards?

Information technology'south a joke right now.

Information technology's a joke right now.

It's feeding time.

Question is volition I be the feed on others or be fed on hahaha? I get to gold and cease in limited most months, and it doesn't have me besides many drafts to get there.

EDIT: Went 7-2 with a UG Mutate Deck splashing White for removal and a couple of expert humans, while rare-drafting a bit (not going to turn down mythics lol) I was in white merely it stale upwardly pretty quickly, so I jumped to Blueish and managed to have Archipelagore like six-7th picks. Tried red, only all the Green cards were coming so concluded upwards in Simic (getting Chevill passed was a pretty big signal I guess).

Deck MVPs: All the mutate creatures actually. 2x Infant Godzilla, the Gnarr, The Heron and Archipelagore. There is pretty much no downside to mutating on top of Gnarr since y'all go the 3/iii back. Fundamental Empathy drew a lot of cards, definitely worth it. Essence Besprinkle vs expensive plays is just mean.

I've found that Ominous Seas can be a lowkey improvement card in express, especially if yous can drib it early.

I decided try my mitt into making a standard deck out of it and this is what I've come up with. I think Pteramander and Fblthp may end upward on the cutting floor, but I need more sample games outset.

Deck
4 Ominous Seas (IKO) 61
23 Island (THB) 251
4 Opt (XLN) 65
4 Pteramander (RNA) 47
iv Spectral Crewman (M20) 76
4 Fblthp, the Lost (War) 50
4 Medomai'south Prophecy (THB) 53
4 Didn't Say Delight (ELD) 42
one Nadir Kraken (THB) 55
4 Winged Words (M20) lxxx
2 Narset, Parter of Veils (WAR) 61
i Shark Draft (IKO) 67
1 The Magic Mirror (ELD) 51

Built a deck with Umori as a Companion in my start typhoon.

I'g honestly not certain that the complimentary bill of fare was worth playing aught removal and a couple of dumb dorks, but I'm playing a UW mutate-pants deck that takes aught thought to play and is fun to smash with.

I'thou tired of Wizards printing bullshit like Ram Through in Green.

Is there annihilation Light-green can't do at this point? Yeah, sure, information technology won't get played in synthetic. It's still nonsense for limited to requite Green access to this sort of instant-speed "conditional" removal at this cost.

Whoever had the bet on Gyruda being the first companion to pause standard, you can collect your prize at present. Huey is already getting mad at having to play mirrors and pre-boarding. He's now rooting for his maindeck Hushbringer opponent for being ahead of the meta.

Wizards non recognising giving a guaranteed 8th card every game beingness busted is actually poor. Ramp decks tin always accept the payoff at present, and they want to skip 3 and 5 mana anyway then who cares they can't play odd cards.

I'd bet Ram Through will exist in standard plenty. Instant speed rabid bite that rewards trample? Gruul loves it. I'm using it over domris deadfall because of how information technology tin intercept simic flash and other interrupt heavy decks

Having played one Traditional Draft on Loonshit - what a weird format. But that might be because I managed to become Obosh in my first pack, so I just ended up doing a funky odd-numbered Grixis aggro deck, merely still, weird. You tin definitely tell there's ii paths between tall and broad for creatures.

Merely I think it's fun. I was super burned out during Theros, and I don't think I'g going to last long over again, merely definitely interested in doing a sealed or some more drafts.

Standard would be immensely better if they just banned all the Companions. What a fucking stupid mechanic for competitive play.

Alright, finally played Ikoria sealed. Went two-3. I started off with a WBR cycling deck, but information technology didn't take the right residue of cycling and payoffs and a mix of humans and creatures.

Then I went to Sultai focusing on mutate that went much ameliorate. Oh and I had that hippo companion, Keruga. Mutate is pretty fun.

I accept to say, getting cards in prizes definitely feels way less "existent" than in-person sealed

I call back cycling might be the worst affair yet since I started replaying magic. not the idea of cycling as a mechanic. but decks with effects based around cycling. who thought it was a fun idea to play against a deck where the opponent but sits in that location shuffling through their deck and either gets to the pay off they want or doesnt? I'd rathe play magic confronting an inanimate wall.

I really hope this is merely people fucking around w jank decks for a few days, because i can';t take another match of someone but cycling for i for five turns until they get their zenith flares.

Hey guys! Nosotros made a mechanic where you lot can tutor for one of the all-time cards in your deck for free! And information technology can't be Remorsed!
Yeah companion is such a worrying mechanic. There'due south only a scattering of cards that i think are only truly horrible considering they're actually playable, but that's the whole trouble with the mechanic, is if it's good, information technology'south automatically likewise good by virtue of being a free card that exists outside of the game that can't exist touched.

We'll run into how it shakes out, but correct now in every typhoon I play inside my first three picks I come across something that makes me go "ooh I bet that would be fun to attempt and build around", which is not something I can say virtually any of the sets since...Dominaria honestly. This ready does an excellent job of signalling possible strategies but having enough blend between them that its relatively easy to suit

This draft should non have been equally good equally it was. Obosh is insane.

I passed over an Obosh mid-draft before considering I already had a lot of even-toll cards... I wonder if I'll end upwardly regretting that selection.

Have done similar 4-five drafts so far. Every bit a typhoon fiend, and one of the better local limited players, I'm definitely not impressed all the same. Every time the opponent reveals they have a companion, I roll my eyes. Many cards are completely ridiculous and there doesn't seem like a ton of ways to beat them (although information technology'southward still super early in the format). I do like the fact that cycling exists in this format, but I haven't quite figured out the correct country count. I've tried a couple of cycling-focused decks and always manage to inundation out. My early votes for the really practiced decks include UG Mutate and multi-color good stuff/control.

Information technology wasn't a summit-tier deck as I call up, but information technology was a affair people played and information technology was every bit annoying as yous might think.

Meh, it seems annoying. Were there also cards that had effects based off of cycling, likez zenith flare, or i forget the name but the one that cheats out other permanents that share a permanent type? I detest the thought of getting value out of a mechanic that actually should just be a healthy mechanic to assistance smoothen the rng of the game. Puts such a bad gustation in my oral cavity, information technology reminds me of field of the dead where it takes advantage of the fact that lands are harder or less probable to exist interacted with to become ridiculous value without needing to interact with the board much.
you got a decklist? I have two lists im running, one is a mardu aggro list with ozolith every bit a way to brand recurring haste creatures that just proceed hitting hard. it's not smashing, but when it works it works and so well and is so fun. The other is simply mono green stompy with ozolith thrown in, kind of tedious only actually works style more than id look. Simic ascendancy was gonna be my side by side try merely I ran out of wildcards.
